At Green Valley School (GVS), we take pride in being an authorized school to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) in grades 12 and 13 (DP1 and DP2).

IB World Schools share a common philosophy based on a commitment to improving teaching and learning in a diverse and inclusive community, providing high-quality international education programs with a holistic and responsible vision that promotes both human and academic excellence.

IB Mission Statement:

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who are motivated to contribute to creating a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

In pursuit of this goal, the IB organization collaborates with educational institutions, governments, and international organizations to develop excellent education programs and effective assessment methods. These programs inspire students worldwide to take an active approach to lifelong learning, practice compassion, and understand others, reaching understanding, conflict resolution, and collaboration through dialogue.

The curriculum of the Diploma Programme (DP) consists of six subject groups:

  1. Language and Literature
  2. Language Acquisition
  3. Individuals and Societies
  4. Sciences
  5. Mathematics
  6. Arts

The core components of the DP are Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS), and the Extended Essay. During the Diploma Programme, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, conduct independent research, and engage in activities and a project related to the three concepts of CAS.

To obtain the full IB Diploma at Green Valley School, you should follow these guidelines:

  • Select one subject from each of the following groups: Groups 1, 3, 4, and 5.
  • Choose another language, which can be either from Group 1 or a Group 2 language.

Aunque deberías elegir asignaturas que verdaderamente te gusten, ten en cuenta que tu elección de asignaturas afectará tu elección de curso en la universidad. Por eso es importante que compruebes los requisitos de la universidad de antemano.
